It's shocking!
So while reading the entertainment news today I saw this little stunner.

Okay, not really. I'm not a fan of Idol. I've never been a fan of Idol simply because I've actually been through two of our own Idol contests at the station. Let me tell you how grueling those first rounds are when you have to listen to people who think they can sing and think they are Celene Dion but are THAT bad. Like shockingly bad. Like you wonder how they could be THAT tone deaf. It really is true. There are plenty of human beings out there who think they are the next rock star because they can play Guitar Hero like a bad ass.
My other big reason why I just totally dislike Idol is pretty much the same reason I got out of FM radio. Don't get me wrong. I loved working in radio. I still do on many occasions. It's just not my main gig any more. My big problem is working in Top 40 Radio you have to sell a product and I couldn't get behind the product. I really just couldn't sell Eminem's new hit like it was the greatest thing I've ever heard when I'd rather use the CD as a Frisbee. I got tired of the music industry propping up pretty people with an ounce of talent that can sing sort of well, it just takes some processing in the studio. Tada, hit record.
Now take Susan Boyle. The woman is not physically impressive but she's a great singer. I'd take her over anyone on Idol, any day. I think that's the difference between American Idol and Britain's Got Talent. American Idol is a product. It's your new laundry detergent. It's toilet paper. It's a can of soda. It's a brand and a product that you're being sold and honestly, it's not all that great of a product unless it recreates itself into something better. Take Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood and Jennifer Hudson. These women had to move as far away from Idol to make something of themselves to the point, it's almost forgotten they were even on that show. As a matter of fact I'd say Jennifer Hudson, who was 3rd runner up, is the most successful Idol member ever and by far, the most talented. Carrie's good and she's making her way. Kelly, eh, I'm not a huge fan of her new album but she's been consistent
My point is who cares if Idol is rigged. Of course it's rigged. It's a talent show that's meant to sell you a product. How do you know that it wasn't rigged to being with before AT&T had anything to do with it? No one will ever know, except the people at Idol and they sure as hell aren't going to tell.
So you Idol fans just keep telling yourself you got robbed or if Kris is your man, you tell them Adam fans to suck it up. By the way, wrestling isn't real either.
