Proof there is a god.

And he wants us to be happy. I was informed not more than a couple of days ago that the Lord in his infinite wisdom has given unto the people of Kansas City a wonderful gift.

He has opened a Sephora.

PRAISE THE LORD! CAN I GET AN AMEN!

I've loved Sephora for a very long time but the majority of my purchases have been online. That's fine but there's something about walking into a store and buying what you want, getting to try out colors and makeup before you get home.

Naturally, when I heard there was one here, I had to make a trip to Beauty Mecca. My first experience of going into a Sephora for my own self was a spoiled one. I got to go to the three story beauty Mecca that is Sephora of NYC on 34th. I nearly fell down on the floor and rolled around in the thing that is Sephora.

Let's face it. I'm a makeup whore. I have no need nor use to have so much damn makeup but I love the stuff. I don't even wear it on a daily basis to justify having it but it's like toys for big girls to me. I don't want dolls. I want lip gloss and smelly body wash. I want body butter and matching foundation. I want smoky eye shadow and mascara that will make me look like I'm wearing falsies. I love it all.

And now there's one near me. After going there tonight, I left the Sephora empty handed but my face was covered in Bare Ecentuals foundation just to try it out. Then I went and got ice cream, happy in the knowledge that if I happen to need some Philosophy Strawberry Milkshake shampoo, body wash and bubble bath or some Smashbox cosmetics, I can just get in my car and go get some.

No more hopping online, waiting for the box to get here, then trying it out. Nope. Not any more.

Today is a good day.

You're so lucky!! The only time I actually get to go into a Sephora is when I go to S.California. Otherwise, it's online. Sephora is Nirvana! It would be a blessed event if one opened here.
